About Dr. Amrita Vohra

With almost 30 years of transformative work in education, Dr Amrita Vohra is a passionate educator, researcher, and author, currently serving as COO & Director Education - GEMS Education, India.

A PhD in English Literature, a certified Program Leader for Cambridge Professional Development Qualifications for teachers and school leaders, a certified IB Head of School and Cambridge TKT qualified educator, Dr Amrita Vohra has been recognized as one of India’s top 100 ‘Great People Managers’. Known for embedding ‘Cultures of Thinking’ and enabling ‘growth mindsets’, she has led various schools as Principal, served as Head of Professional Development and Quality Assurance, and mentored a lot of greenfield as well as brownfield school projects across India with National, Cambridge and IB (International Baccalaureate) curricula. K-12 Policy, Professional Development, Quality Assurance, Early Childhood Education, Teaching of English, Drama in Education, Inclusive Education, Global Citizenship Education, Social Emotional Learning alongside Mental Health and Wellbeing are some of her key interests. She has been recognized by Education World among the top 25 education leaders re-inventing education in India, by Insight Success magazine amongst the 5 most inspiring leaders in education and many others. She is recognized as an expert on Teaching of English and Reading Programs. She has been a part of and led various standard-setting exercises, capacity building workshops, leadership development and academic research initiatives by ACER (Australian Council for Education Research), OUP (Oxford University Press), CBSE and others.

From Workshops for DIET Principals in Kerala to affordable private schools spread across urban, semi-urban as well as rural India, to establishing and supporting mid-market national curriculum and premium IB schools, she has been working relentlessly towards improving K- 12 education quality across the spectrum of public and private education.
